Patrick and Joan Leigh Fermor House
THE VILLA
AT A GLANCE
Set in the heart of the Mani Peninsula, The Fermor House embodies the region’s rugged beauty and heritage through its classic stone architecture. This historic mansion offers a rare chance to immerse yourself in Greece’s cultural past while overlooking one of its most breathtaking coastlines.
Celebrated as one of the most beautiful homes in Greece, it was the beloved residence of Sir Patrick Leigh Fermor and his wife Joan. In 1996, they gifted the estate to the Benaki Museum, which has meticulously restored the property, preserving its original spirit and charm. Today, the house opens each summer, welcoming guests while supporting its role as a hub of hospitality for distinguished scholars and a venue for academic workshops in collaboration with universities worldwide—an inspiring retreat where history and place converge.
